Since you made it to this page, that must mean that you're looking for a design company to create a custom website, logo, or some other web user interface. field15 has been doing just those tasks for clients since 1998, and we have the knowledge and background to help you get exactly what you're looking for.

Design Philosophy

We've worked with countless clients, and while each one needs something unique, they all need to grab a user's attention. A non-profit organization helping natural disaster victims, an electrical contracting company, a community-based site dealing with dream interpretation, and a military nursing research organization are all trying to reach a different audience and portray a different image. We understand those differences, and we'll help you create a current, standards-driven, custom design that will fit your niche.

Ultimately, the key to good design comes down to creating a visual presentation that people want to interact with, which is why we always keep the user at the forefront of a design's intention. But the look of a design is only one piece of the puzzle—it also has to work. A frustrated or confused user will just move on to another website, and once they're gone, they're unlikely to come back. Our design and technical departments work together from the start for this very reason, and we want to make sure that a user experience is intuitive, pleasant, and easy. We also want every client to be proud of his or her new site, and we work hard to make sure that happens.

Whatever style of design you want, whether it's clean and corporate, grungy and cool, slick and techy, or cute and girly, we have the skills and experience to work with you to make sure that your project puts you in the best possible light.

The Design Process

Over the years, we've developed a client-friendly process for narrowing down a site's focus, design scheme, and goals. Each of these is absolutely vital to a successful site, and since not every client is knowledgeable about the web, we're happy to hold your hand to make sure that all of these are figured out first. How exactly do we do this, though?

  • Initial Client Conversation
Every design project starts with a discussion about what you're looking for, and it's the basics that are discovered in this conversation that often lead the project. For example, we'll ask about the organization, company, or individual. What do you do? Who's your target audience? What are you looking to design or re-design?
  • Design Conversation
The next step is to have a specific conversation about the design aspects of a project. Do you have any graphics, logos, or brochures that you want to use and/or match? Are there specific colors or images you want to use? What's the purpose of the design—is it to provide information, get donors, or sign people up for a new product?
  • Technology Conversation
This usually happens with the design conversation above, and it's just a way for us to make sure that we know about any issues that we need to either plan for or avoid. For example, do you already have hosting and email set up? If so, what kind of account do you have with your ISP (this could determine what programming language we can use)? Would you like to be able to edit the site on your own after it goes live?
  • Estimate
Once we get all the design and technology specifics, we can give a fair and accurate price for your project. Like we mention in our Growing Green section, the cost you sign off on in the quote will be the price you see in the final bill, so we want to make sure that the price is as accurate as we can make it.
  • Work Begins
Once you've signed off on the cost, we'll start work on the project. We'll create a production schedule with deadlines for both you and us to make sure that things stay on track. We'll also begin creating whatever pieces are needed for your project, and we'll stay in close contact with you to make sure that you know where things stand at any point in time.
  • And, Finally, Project Goes Live
This is probably the most exciting part of the project for you, and we want it to be smooth and fun—after all, it's not every day that you launch a new site or project! But don't worry...if you ever need any changes made or general maintenance done to your site, we'll be here to help you whenever you need it.
